No weapon formed against us shall prevail

My second visit to Lusaka to do the Lords work in Zambia, the construction of the children’s village which will provide homes for over 200 orphans, did not go without a few ‘hiccups’ along the way. Missing passports, second thoughts, lack of focus, emotions of depression and anger, defiance, and physical attacks back home. While I personally was not affected directly by most of these trials, it affected me indirectly through the ones I love. However, I was affected directly early in the trip as my luggage was lost. Yes – I have no change of clothes and all my toiletries were lost. But this is but a little inconvenience. I am actually surprised that I am not too concerned. I have been getting by pretty well- except I continue to get the occasional rib from the other team members saying ‘didn’t you wear that yesterday?’ Yet this team has come to my aid by providing an extra shirt here and a pair of shoes there.
The idea is that these things will not deter us from what the Lord has set us out to do. We might have had to go through some extra heartache, but we are here.
It was amazing to see the fruits of last years work in the erection of the first home. It really has strengthened my faith in his provision. Sometimes it can seem like an improbable venture. Building 14 homes in a village? Crazy. But He is awesome and worthy.
